Funding Available for Health and Social Care Training
Government funding support for health and social care qualifications.
At A1 Education & Training, we help individuals and organisations across England access funding support for health and social care qualifications, workforce development and staff training.
Health and social care training funding support
With the introduction of the Adult Social Care Learning and Development Support Scheme, many eligible care providers can reduce the cost of staff training while continuing to meet Care Quality Commission standards and improve the quality of care delivery.
Our experienced team provides support throughout the funding process, helping employers understand eligibility, select suitable qualifications and make the most of available funding opportunities.
Funding is subject to eligibility, scheme rules and availability. We recommend confirming current funding requirements before starting a qualification or training programme.
What is the LDSS?
The Adult Social Care Learning and Development Support Scheme replaced the Workforce Development Fund and supports employers with funding for eligible health and social care qualifications and workforce development programmes across England.
- Adult social care providers in England
- Non-regulated care staff
- Workforce development and upskilling
- Accredited health and social care qualifications
- Leadership and management training
- Professional development for care staff
Funding may be available for eligible employers looking to invest in staff development and improve workforce skills.
Transition from WDF to LDSS
The previous Workforce Development Fund ceased in 2025, with employers now able to claim through the new LDSS funding scheme where they meet the relevant eligibility criteria.
The current scheme supports eligible training and qualifications for non-regulated care staff employed in England, helping organisations continue investing in training while managing costs effectively.
60% initial funding
Eligible qualifications may allow an initial claim once training has been paid for and started.
40% completion funding
The remaining funding may be claimed after successful qualification completion.
No repayment if staff leave
The scheme guidance supports employers without requiring repayment if staff do not complete.
Wide qualification support
Funding can support a range of eligible qualifications and training courses.
England-based staff
The scheme is aimed at eligible adult social care employers and staff in England.
Employer support
We can help employers understand the process and choose suitable training routes.
Qualifications eligible for funding
Funding may be available for a range of nationally recognised health and social care qualifications, including adult care, leadership, management and specialist development routes.
Many of our qualifications may be eligible for LDSS funding support, subject to the scheme rules and employer eligibility.
